Since it was founded in 2002, BwFuhrparkService GmbH (BwFPS) as an in-house company of the federal government has been covering the mobility needs of the Bundeswehr with increasing tendency.
BwFuhrparkservice GmbH was founded in 2002 as an in-house company of the federal government. The federal government holds 75.1 percent of its shares through the Federal Ministry of Defense and 24.9 percent through Deutsche Bahn. The company has around 650 employees of its own and around 600 employees provided by the federal government (mainly drivers).
Since 2016, the Bundeswehr has been using BwFuhrparkService GmbH to carry out mobility and fleet management tasks and measures to improve the BwFPS system. A corresponding unlimited contract was signed on May 25, 2016 by the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr and the management of BwFuhrparkService GmbH.
15 service centers, 38 service stations and 134 self-service stations have been set up for on-site service, which are managed from four regional dispatch centers.
