According to the Russian Defense Ministry, portable robotic systems and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) will be integrated into the Russian 3rd generation soldier system “Ratnik 3.0” in order to provide the ground forces with more information about the battlefield. The items of equipment under development will be made of ultra-light and durable materials. Also, exoskeletons introduced into equipment kits will increase the military's physical capabilities.

Ratnik aims to improve the performance of individual soldiers on the battlefield by making the latest scientific advances in the areas of navigation, night vision systems, protection and monitoring of the soldier's psycho-physiological condition available using new materials.
