Following the intergovernmental agreement signed between France and Ukraine on June 8, Airbus Helicopters has signed a contract with the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior for the purchase of 55 civil helicopters for search and rescue (SAR), public services and emergency medical services (EMS) operations in the country . The 55 aircraft consist of 21 H225s, ten H145s and 24 H125s. The contract also calls for the establishment of a local training and maintenance center. The H225 heavy twin-engine helicopters ordered by Ukraine will be used for public services and search and rescue operations. The first H225 helicopters are scheduled to land in Kiev before the end of 2018.
